What is your role or relationship with CESO?
How long have you been working or volunteering with CESO?
What motivates you to work or volunteer with CESO?
Volunteering gives me a chance to share my knowledge and experience with like-minded people. We all want to make the world a better place, taking one step forward at a time.
What is your most remarkable experience or memory of CESO?
I had an opportunity to work with an alpaca farming community in the northern mountains of Bolivia. I travelled seven hours by truck through windy, dusty mountain roads and stayed five days in the community. I wanted to see the raising of animals and production of alpaca wool first-hand. It helped me to understand the incredible journey that an alpaca shawl goes on from the time the animals are sheared to the time the shawl arrives in the retail store in Canada.
Economic development is important because…
It puts a community or business on the path of long term sustainability.
What advice would you give other CESO Advisors?
Be flexible and patient.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
I always come away from a CESO assignment having learned more than I feel I have imparted.
