What is your role or relationship with CESO?
How long have you been working or volunteering with CESO?
Almost six years.
What motivates you to work or volunteer with CESO?
It is very rewarding to work with CESO and see the impact that the organization is making both here in Canada and internationally. I also find it very humbling to work alongside so many committed CESO Advisors who are so generous with their time and expertise.
What is your most remarkable experience or memory of CESO?
I think the most memorable experience I had with CESO was with my first assignment working with the Moose Cree First Nation in Moose Factory, Ontario. It was an eight hour drive to Cochrane, then a five hour train ride to Moosonee, then a water taxi to Moose Factory. It was quite an experience to get there! The assignment itself was very interesting, and I had a great relationship with the client. We still keep in touch, and hopefully I will get to return there one day!
What advice would you give other CESO Advisors?
Be flexible! The scope of projects may change, conditions aren’t always ideal, and project dates may be a bit fluid. If at the end, the client is happy, then it is all worth it!
Is there anything else you would like to add?
I would like to add that the team of CESO staff are so amazing and I can’t believe how many assignments they coordinate each year. They are so great to work with and I can’t thank them enough!
