Since joining CESO in 2004, Rene has positively impact the lives of clients and partners in Haiti, Senegal, Algeria, Burkina Faso, and Indigenous communities across Canada.
As a Volunteer Advisor, René works closely with clients and partners to ensure the solutions offered are local and achievable. During an assignment he completed with CENAF (Centre National d’Assistance à la Femme), he trained staff to improve and standardize processes and products of the institution. He worked with local staff to adapt a universal manual based on the needs and resources of the institution. As a result, CENAF and its local counterpart (CEDAF) were able to successfully implement a standardized system to provide better services to its members. The assignment became a pilot project to further strengthen the institutional capacity of CENAF to provide better services to its members.
His dedicated service to CESO goes beyond his work in the field. René also volunteers his time as an in-house volunteer as the lead Recruitment coordinator, providing support to the operations of our work in Africa. With a team of other volunteer recruiters, René has been a valuable resource in improving our recruitment efforts in Quebec.
