CESO Strategic Advisors

CESO’s Accelerating Women’s Empowerment (AWE) program aims to improve the economic and social wellbeing of the poorest, most marginalized and vulnerable people, particularly women, in 21 countries. This program is funded by Global Affairs Canada, under the Volunteer Cooperation Program.

Through short term assignments delivered by our CESO Advisors, CESO is harnessing the knowledge, capacity and expertise of skilled Canadians who assist developing country partners improve their performance, advocate for gender equality, and implement more sustainable, innovative and inclusive initiatives in the micro, small and medium enterprise and community development sectors.

We support partners primarily in four sectors:

  1. Agribusiness
  2. Tourism and hospitality
  3. Nutritional products
  4. Agroforestry

CESO support helps improve production, operations, quality control, accounting and finance, marketing, sustainable practices and export readiness.

The CESO Strategic Advisor (CSA) will support Program Managers (PM) to develop, adapt and implement AWE’s strategy in the selected sectors and value chains. With her/his experience in the select area(s) of focus, the CSA will work in close collaboration with the PM, the in-country teams, and CESO’s Gender Sensitive Value Chains (GSVC) Advisor to support analysis and explore strategic options with the aim to deliver impact.
