National Indigenous Peoples Day 2021: Committed to a Brighter FutureJune 18, 2021
June 21, 2021 is the 25th anniversary of National Indigenous Peoples Day—a celebration of the heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding achievements of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.
June also marks National Indigenous History Month—a time dedicated to residential school survivors, missing children and families left behind.
The weeks since the tragic discovery of the remains of over 200 Indigenous children on the grounds of a former residential school in Kamloops, BC have been a time of national mourning and a reminder of an unjust legacy that continues today.
CESO remains committed in this role on the reconciliation journey—empowering Indigenous businesses and community leaders to foster inclusive economic growth and help create a brighter future for Indigenous Peoples across Canada.
Over the last year, 85 virtual volunteer assignments helped build capacity and create opportunity across Canada. With support from CESO Advisors, businesses and organizations accessed COVID-19 relief funding, strategized and adapted to overcome obstacles created by the pandemic.
Your support helps us continue this essential work.
