National Indigenous Peoples Day 2020: Committed to a Prosperous Future
June 17, 2020
June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day—a time to learn about, acknowledge and celebrate the contributions First Nations, Inuit and Métis people have made in shaping Canada.
For 50 years, CESO has worked with Indigenous entrepreneurs, businesses and community leaders to build skills and create environments that enable their increased participation in local and national economies. With this growing support, Indigenous Peoples are empowered to pursue their goals and opportunities for employment, income and wealth creation.
Between 2018-2019, 92 CESO assignments across Canada helped small businesses thrive, fostered job creation and improved health and well-being.
This year, COVID-19 has created additional obstacles to economic and social progress in Canada’s Indigenous communities. We remain more committed than ever to ensuring our partners receive the support they need, offering assistance online or by phone.
Celebrations for National Indigenous Peoples Day will look a bit different this year too. Take a look at the list below for ways to stay connected in observance, learning and lending support.
