STEPS TO BECOME A VOLUNTEER WITH MERIT
MERIT volunteers, known as Technical Advisors, are senior-level professionals from the public and private sector who are passionate about sharing their skills and expertise to empower others. They are Canadian citizens (or permanent residents) who represent a wide range of industries and professional skill sets.
To be eligible to apply for MERIT assignments, you must first become a CESO Volunteer Advisor by following these steps:
Fill out the CESO Volunteer application form, and attach your résumé in Word format. Please ensure your contact information (address, phone and email address) is included on your resume.
We carefully review each application to ensure a strong match between a volunteer’s skills and the needs of the project.
You will attend a mandatory one-hour orientation session (in person or virtually) to learn more about CESO and how to apply and prepare for an assignment.
We will contact you for an interview, followed by a reference check.
5. Sign Conflict of Interest and Code of Conduct
You will be required to sign CESO’s Conflict of Interest Statement and Code of Conduct.
6. Pay administration fee
Pay the one time $100 administration fee through Paypal.
Successful candidates will receive a welcome letter and log-in information for the myCESO online information portal.
8. Apply for assignments
