Scott Wetmore brings a keen understanding of financial oversight and a deep network of relationships with the corporate sector to his role on the CESO board.
Mr. Wetmore’s 35-year career in public accounting includes senior leadership roles within KPMG and responsibility for some of the firm’s largest public company clients in Canada. He has built a reputation among staff, peers and clients as a well-respected leader and a partner who consistently delivers exceptional client service.
Over the past 12 years Mr. Wetmore has acted as KPMG’s lead engagement partner for two of Canada’s five largest financial institutions. In that role, he has been actively involved in some of the challenges and issues facing the financial services industry during the most recent financial crisis. He is also the KPMG representative on the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions’ Advisory Committee for Deposit-Taking Institutions.
Mr. Wetmore is a Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant (FCPA) and Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) of the Ontario Institute of Chartered Accountants. He is also currently Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors of The Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, and a former member of the Board of Governors of the University of Waterloo.
