What is your role or relationship with CESO?
Volunteer Advisor (Present)
How long have you been working or volunteering with CESO?
What motivates you to work or volunteer with CESO?
I enjoy providing my expertise to empower the global agricultural community by enhancing their basic practices towards sustainable agriculture. This includes providing education and training to professionals in food crop production under protected climatic conditions and bridging gaps in knowledge management.
What is your most remarkable experience or memory of CESO?
My most memorable experience was volunteering at a greenhouse complex in the Almaty region of Kazakhstan, which was known to be a very inhospitable desert environment.
Despite these conditions, the entrepreneur I worked with was dedicated and committed to providing sustainable employment to the most neglected demographic groups of the region, mainly young women, single mothers and the physically handicapped. This employer not only provided a safe work environment and housing, but also lifted these individuals’ self-worth and gave them a sense of empowerment.
This experience was an inspiration to me, and showed me that even one motivated, selfless individual can contribute to positive change.
Economic development is important because…
Contributing to the development of the global community can promote the self-sufficiency and self-reliance of a nation.
What advice would you give other Volunteer Advisors?
Be prepared to pitch in any way that you can and do not hesitate to provide honest feedback and expertise for the task at hand.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Always expect the unexpected and realize that any contribution you make, however small, is appreciated, and goes a long way in helping the client community.
