This co-facilitated workshop (Wolof/French) on participatory budgeting revealed these Northern Senegalese women’s energy and commitment toward municipal politics (Ross Bethio, Dagana and le Fouta)

It is the foundation of the independence and development of individuals and communities.
What advice would you give other Volunteer Advisors?
Especially an openness toward people and situations, having a work plan and an ability to adapt to the environment while achieving the stated goals.
Is there anything else you’d like to add?
The clients often have as much knowledge as we do, which can be disorienting. But they want us to confirm their capacities, and they want to compare notes on different approaches because they don’t all have the opportunity to attend conferences or meetings in other countries. And often, they need coaching in applying this knowledge, these techniques and approaches.
