CESO in 1987-88

In 1987, CESO looks inward to update priorities, approaches and policies culminating in the 1987-1990 Strategic Plan.

A task force assesses the Canadian Native Program and recommends changes to accommodate the needs of modern Indigenous communities.

In a move towards gender equality, CESO assembles the Women in Development committee to encourage CESO to send women on volunteer assignments and to assist more female clients.



Did You Know?

In 1987, American businessman David Rockefeller becomes the first recipient of the CESO Award for International Development.


CESO Spouses Program is created for VA family members to learn about local conditions and opportunities to volunteer teaching English, work in a hospital and more.
