What is your role or relationship with CESO?
We are CESO donors. Bryan is a Volunteer Advisor.
How long have you been working or volunteering with CESO?
Bryan: I’ve been volunteering with CESO for over eight years now.
What motivates you to work or volunteer with CESO?
We donate because we believe in CESO’s work. We feel that CESO’s Partnership Model has the substance and credibility to make a difference.
What is your most remarkable experience or memory of CESO?
My most remarkable memory was my work with CANATHURH, a CESO partner in Honduras. It was my first assignment as a Lead Volunteer Advisor, and it was an opportunity to get to know the partner and their needs. It was really important to me because I had the opportunity to work closely with them and support their objectives to grow and be profitable.
Economic development is important because…
It improves lives. This is especially true about CESO’s approach to partnership.
What advice would you give other Volunteer Advisors?
Be flexible and listen well. As a Volunteer Advisor, it’s really important to keep an open mind about the many different situations, people and culture we can encounter when going on an assignment. Each assignment is an opportunity to learn as much as to teach.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
We’ve been very fortunate to have worn multiple hats, and see the many different facets of the organization. As donors, we really value and appreciate the level of professionalism from the staff.
