Assignment description: The volunteer delivered communications workshops to 26 staff members and covered communications techniques used on a one-on-one basis, by telephone, by teleconference, and in a team environment.
Location: Labrador Date: January 2008 Client: A canoe building company Assignment description: The volunteer helped the client with operating procedures and practices as well as the preparation of a new business plan.
Location: Surrey, BC Date: 2007 Client: An Aboriginal self-employment program Assignment description: A team of volunteers were assigned to help with this a variety of individuals, clients of the self-employment program. The volunteers provided advice on establishing 11 new businesses.

Location: Vladimir, Russia Date: May 2008 Client: A medical college, and a social centre that provide support for women in crisis and handicapped children. Assignment description: A volunteer couple worked together on this assignment. One of the volunteers conducted workshops with college teachers, students, and members of local dental clinics, on a wide variety of topics, including management, strategic planning, customer service and dental treatment plans, with a view to improving college training programs. The volunteer also presented a highly innovative computer program, designed to track patients through various stages of treatment. The other volunteer conducted workshops for 60 people, mostly women, on a wide variety of rehabilitation therapies for disabilities such as physical handicaps, cerebral palsy, autism and behavioural disorders.
Location: Corquin, Honduras Date: April 2008 Client: a small non-profit organization dedicated to improving education, sustainable economic development and living conditions of rural people living in the South Copan region in Honduras. Assignment description: The volunteer inspected and assessed agricultural methods and practices being used by the local producers, farm technicians and ODECO staff to determine deficiencies in agriculture technology and recommended methods for organic farming practices; and provided trained in new organic production methodologies and practices, plus certification and marketing.
Location: Yerevan, Armenia Date: April 2008 Client: A large food retailer with a meat processing plant that was planning to add a new facility to increase production ten-fold, to capitalize on growth opportunities in the domestic market. Assignment description: The volunteer advised on management practices and production processes, to prepare for the expansion; trained staff members in hygiene/sanitation practices, international standards for process procedures, and quality control; developed a weekly production plan, and recommended improvements in management supervision practices and marketing and sales strategies.
Location: Burkina Faso Date: March 2008 Client: A company that produces soap, shampoo and other products made from shea butter. Assignment description: The volunteer advised on production and hygiene methods and on techniques for improving product quality.
Location: the Philippines Date: December 2007 Client: The Municipality of San Antonio Assignment description: The volunteer provide technical training for the Municipality’s IT staff responsible for developing and managing business permits and licenses. The volunteer trained the staff in the use of specific software applications and implemented a functioning electronic business and permit licensing system and database; and assisted in creating a 3-year Information Systems Strategic Plan for the treasury operations system.
