 Become a Volunteer
Basic eligibility criteria
To be eligible to become a Volunteer Adviser, applicants must:
- Reside in and be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Be between 18 and 70 years of age
- Have a minimum of ten years combined experience in at least one area of CESO’s work. View Skills in Need for a complete listing.
- Strong interest in transferring skills with clients in Canada and overseas
- Willingness and availability to travel within Canada and overseas from 2-3 days to up to 3 months
- Ability to produce written assignment reports and correspond over email;
Selection Process
Once you’ve completed the application form, your information will be reviewed to ensure you meet CESO requirements. Then, you will be asked to attend a half-day information session, and to cover any related travel costs. If you live farther than 150 kms from the site of a given information session, a one-on-one phone session may be arranged. Next, you will be invited to a face-to-face (or phone) interview. Finally, your work-related references will be contacted.
