Aeroplan's Beyond Miles and CESO
In 1967 an idea was born - to engage the experience and talents of Canadian business executives in volunteer work at home and abroad. Now 40 years later, the success of our work is recognized around the world as a Canadian success story. This work is rooted in the contribution of our Volunteers Advisers, those incredible Canadians who share their knowledge and expertise. Our partnership with Aeroplan "Beyond Miles" continues the tradition of innovation in building stronger communities. We invite you to read our stories and join in supporting projects that help end poverty, improve governance, and build brighter futures.

Getting to know the people was the best part of my Philippine assignment
By Aeroplan employee and CESO VA Luise Turner
I’ve always been fascinated with other cultures and enjoy volunteer work, so when I had the opportunity to go on an assignment as a CESO Volunteer Adviser I jumped at the chance. I first learned about CESO while working at Aeroplan which allows its members to donate miles to various charitable organizations, including CESO. In an effort to engage its employees and to further develop ties with these charities, Aeroplan offers various volunteer opportunities.

Eco-tourism in New Brunswick
The community near the Iroquois River in Saint-Basile, New Brunswick, was dramatically changed when CESO VA John Anderson met with Chief Jean-Guy Cimon of the Madawask Maliseet First Nation. The Eco-tourism project was ambitious and brought renewed energy to the community. By training young Band members to operate a new hatchery and fish-out pond, creating nature trails, a campground and interpretive centre, stable futures were provided for decades to come. CESO life-skills training helps transform futures and we are very proud of our ability to make lives better. Learn more about National Services. |
Making a Difference in China
The potato is not only a food staple in China, it is the key to economic stability and a better life. When Dr. Al-Mughrabi left Canada to work in Gansu, China he knew he would be contributing to improving the lives of thousands. By teaching and training employees at The Shandan Potato Propagation Centre, new techniques and practices have resulted in disease-free plants and more abundant crops. CESO is proud to be a part of alleviating poverty and creating opportunity for scores of people through this important work. Learn more about International Services. |
