Volunteer Advisers work with our clients and partners in hundreds of different ways, including providing help with the start-ups and running of band-owned small businesses such as convenience stores and gas bars; establishing or improving businesses and community governments; advising on housing projects; and studying the economics of on-reserve enterprises like shopping plazas.
CESO Aboriginal Services include:
- Business Support Services - Working with entrepreneurs, organizations and communities etc. in the areas of marketing/feasibility studies, business plans, lands and resources, funding etc.
- General Administration/Organizational Development - Working with communities, organizations, businesses etc. in relation to financial and accounting systems, audits, human resource development, manufacturing quality control etc.

| Financial Management |
CESO can offer your community two training workshops – Understanding Basic Bookkeeping and Financial Management, and also individual training and ongoing support, all customized to your needs.
Understanding Basic Bookkeeping
Workshop designed for people, who, as part of their jobs, are required to have knowledge of bookkeeping and can include members of the community, persons who are new in and administrative or accounting job either in business or the band office or council member. The workshop presents in simplistic terms the concepts of double entry bookkeeping.
Aboriginal Financial Management
Workshop designed for people who have attended the Understanding Basic Bookkeeping course or those people who work in accounting or Board or Counsel members who need to have a greater understanding of the processes and the interpretation of the reports and statements. The workshop presents in detail the business of accounting. It covers not only budgeting, preparing entries, preparing month end reports and statements including Balance Sheets and Income Statements.
Ongoing Support where CESO can offer guidance for implementation, training of support staff as needed and help to monitor your progress by providing:
