Martine Normand's belief in and understanding of the many benefits of diversity provide her with a unique and valuable perspective on the CESO board of directors.
Ms. Normand's international career spans more than 25 years, and includes leadership roles in sales, marketing and training. Fluent in both English and French, she is currently vice president of Human Resources for Xerox Canada, a company known for its diversity practices and named in March 2011 as one of the Globe and Mail's Best New Employers for New Canadians. The company was honoured in the same month as one of Canada's Best Diversity Employers by MediaCorp.
Her belief in the value of diverse hiring practices led Ms. Normand to campaign for more gender diversity in the information and communications technology (ICT) industry. In her role as board member of the Information Technology Society of Canada (ITAC), she began a dialogue between ITAC and Canadian Women in Communications (CWC), which led to a partnership through which CWC now offers its programs, including career coaching, mentoring and its awards program, to women in ICT companies.
