SENEGAL––CESO’s work in the electricity sector led to the creation of the "Federation of Electricity Sector Enterprises in Senegal” (FESELEC) on May 15, 2010. More than 30 companies are members of this union; one that is recognized by the country’s Ministry of Energy. Having this federation will assist in the effort to bring electricity to more rural communities, and will assist electricians to compete against foreign companies for government contracts in this field.
CESO completed several assignments with the group and contacted companies to encourage them to join. CESO also proposed the group’s first charter to the members (which they could change) and created an organizational chart, so members knew how the group would be structured. CESO was also involved in implementing a financial plan and choosing a logo for the group.
