Important News

We are saddened to report the news of a significant earthquake in Ecuador on April 16, 2016.

The magnitude-7.8 quake, was centred on Ecuador's fishing ports and tourist beaches, about 170 kilometres northwest of the capital of Quito. The death toll has reached 272, with 2,700 people injured.

At this time we have no Volunteer Advisors on the ground, and all CESO staff are reported safe and far from the earthquake's impact.

We continue to stay closely connected with staff in Ecuador and we will keep you updated as we learn more.

Our team is made up of Canadian volunteers who are experts in their profession who work with partners here and overseas. Become a CESO volunteer today!

CESO's 2010-2011 Annual Report is now available!
